Covid-19 Updates and Information

What Adams County residents need to know:​ 

Per the Supervisory Court order, issued on February 17, 2022, by the Court of Common Pleas of Adams County all previous COVID Protocol orders have been vacated. Moving forward the order encourages all parties entering a judicial facility to comply with current CDC guidelines. No person shall be prohibited from wearing a facial mask; however, it is not required. Per the order, a facial mask is required to be worn if you have tested positive or have been exposed to COVID-19 as outlined in the CDC guidelines.​ 

The Courthouse and County offices remain open for business with the following operational exceptions:
  • Sheriff’s office requires appointments for License to Carry Permits and Fingerprinting
  • Prothonotary’s office requires appointments for Passports
  • District Attorney’s office requires appointments
The Prison and 2nd floor of the Department of Emergency Services are closed to the public. 
   

Public viewing of Court proceedings is still via virtual viewing at the Human Services Building by contacting the Court Administrator at 717-337-9846 at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.​

The Adams County Court of Common Pleas has adopted an Emergency Order similar to the order issued in the spring which prohibits in-person court filings at all Court filing offices with the exception of emergency pleadings. When possible, and unless otherwise required by interests of justice, court proceeding will be conducted by advanced technology systems.  Allowed judicial proceedings will be limited to the parties and their counsel. Arrangements to observe allowable court proceedings by the media and the public, must be done electronically through arrangements with the Court Administrator at least one business day prior to the proceeding. The Law Library is closed except by appointment.

Emergency Services
The Adams County Emergency Services Office is available by appointment only, please call (717) 334-8603 before coming to our office.​​​

Adult Correctional Complex
The Adams County Adult Correctional Complex will be resuming normal operations for Public and Professional visiting on a modified schedule effective Monday, April 18, 2022. The Lobby will be open Monday through Friday from 0700 hours until 1500 hours. Both public and professional visits will occur during those hours. An update visitation schedule will be posted with this information. Please ask the individual you are visiting for their housing assignment to determine what day and time their visit is scheduled for.

Re-Entry Center: Adams County Re-Entry Center will be closed until further notice.

Office Of The County Solicitor
Please be advised that due to the ongoing coronavirus mitigation efforts by Adams County, many County employees are working from home or in a limited capacity.  As a result, some Right-To-Know responses may take longer than normal.  We thank you for your patience and understanding as we diligently process your requests during these unique circumstances.​

The Adams County Board of Commissioners meeting are held in-person or virtually in the Historic Courtroom, starting at 9:00 a.m.

These in-person or virtual public meetings will continue through the remainder of the year.
