Covid-19 Updates and Information

What Adams County residents need to know:​

Following CDC protocol, applicable to both staff and public, persons that have been vaccinated are not required to wear a mask. Persons that have not been vaccinated are still required to wear a mask.  Temperature checks for public and staff have ceased. Signage indicates this policy to visitors entering the building.  

Appointments are no longer required to visit county offices - with the exceptions being the District Attorney and the Sheriff’s Office. 

Public viewing of court proceedings  is still limited to virtual viewing at the Human Services Building by contacting the Court Administrator at 717-337-9846 at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.   

The Adams County Court of Common Pleas has adopted an Emergency Order similar to the order issued in the spring which prohibits in-person court filings at all Court filing offices with the exception of emergency pleadings. When possible, and unless otherwise required by interests of justice, court proceeding will be conducted by advanced technology systems.  Allowed judicial proceedings will be limited to the parties and their counsel. Arrangements to observe allowable court proceedings by the media and the public, must be done electronically through arrangements with the Court Administrator at least one business day prior to the proceeding. The Law Library is closed except by appointment.  All Magisterial District Courts shall remain open to the public Monday - Friday from 9AM – 3:30PM.

Emergency Services
The Adams County Emergency Services Office is available by appointment only, please call (717) 334-8603 before coming to our office.​​​

Adult Correctional Complex
The Adams County Adult Correctional Facility has been closed and will remain closed to the public until further notice. ​

Re-Entry Center: Adams County Re-Entry Center will be closed until further notice.

Office Of The County Solicitor
Please be advised that due to the ongoing coronavirus mitigation efforts by Adams County, many County employees are working from home or in a limited capacity.  As a result, some Right-To-Know responses may take longer than normal.  We thank you for your patience and understanding as we diligently process your requests during these unique circumstances.​

Sheriff's Office 
Adams County Sheriff’s Department will be closed to public entry until further notice.  To contact  the Sheriff’s Office call 717-337-9828 or 717-337-9820. For an emergency call 911.

Board of Commissioners Meeting: 
 

The Adams County Board of Commissioners announce that on or about June 10, 2021, the PA General Assembly adopted a Joint Resolution terminating the Governor’s Proclamation of Disaster Emergency effective immediately.​

​With the passage of this Joint Resolution, the Adams County Commissioners will now re-commence in-person public meetings. Beginning with Wednesday, June 16th, the Commissioners public meetings will be held in-person in the Historic Courtroom, starting at 9:00 a.m. These in-person public meetings will continue through the remainder of the year.
