COVID-19 Update 11/25/2020
visits to the tax services office are by appointment only! please call 717-337-9837 to make an appointment.
Please utilize our online delinquent tax bill pay, email communication at, telephone communication at 717-337-9837 and our outside drop box to deliver payments and other paperwork. The drop box is located just outside the main courthouse entrance on baltimore Street.
Customers needing to visit the office are required to have their temperature checked at the main entrance security checkpoint, keep social distance practices in place and wear a mask over their mouth and nose the entire time while in the courthouse.
Update 4/8/2020
Through Adams County Ordinance NO. 1 of 2020, and due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic situation, the Adams County Commissioners are extending tax payment deadlines for 2020 Adams County Real Estate and Per Capita Taxes as follows: to pay at 2% DISCOUNT until JUNE 30, 2020; to pay at "PAR" July 1, 2020 through OCTOBER 31, 2020; from NOVEMBER 1 and thereafter, a 10% penalty will be added to the "PAR" amount.

Similar resolutions and ordinances are approved or pending in each municipality. At this time, all Adams County Tax Collector offices are closed until further notice. Payments can be mailed, placed in drop boxes (where available) and paid by credit card (where available). If requesting a receipt, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Please consult your tax collector or municipal office for actual tax collector office hours after the State stay-at-home orders are lifted. Taxpayers will continue to be encouraged to use mail, drop boxes or online payments to reduce face-to-face contact at that time.


Welcome to the Adams County Tax Services Department!

The mission of the Adams County Tax Services Department is to administer the county’s tax system, as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in a way that is equitable, fair and uniform to the residents of Adams County. The Tax Services Department encompasses the following but is not limited to:

      • Mapping and maintaining current information for all tax parcels and taxable individuals
      • Producing and supporting real property values through systematic procedures
      • Collecting delinquent property taxes for all of the county‘s taxing bodies
      • Managing a preferential assessment and exclusion program

These tasks are completed by well-educated and dedicated staff that includes Certified Pennsylvania Evaluators (CPEs) and others with specialized skills in specific areas. We always remain cognizant that good administration of the Tax Services Department and our tax system is essential for providing adequate funding to local government services. We strive to provide exceptional customer service to the public and other county departments.
