With limited funds for preservation, it is the County's goal to try and protect the existing clusters of preserved lands and areas conducive to farming. The Rural Resources Division has developed a map which identifies areas of the County that have a concentration of certain features which contribute to productive farming areas.
The Agricultural Preservation Priority Area map is intended to be used in conjunction with the evaluation done with the LESA program, which scores applications submitted to the Adams County Agricultural Land Preservation Program (ACALPP). These "Priority" areas are derived through an analysis process using a GIS model. The identified areas will be used as a tool and does not preclude any applicant to the ACALPP.
The Adams County Agricultural Preservation Priority Area (PPA) Map concept was adopted by the Adams County Commissioners by Resolution on November 13, 2013.
