Domestic Relations Section
Vision & Mission
Our vision is that all children and families have the medical and financial support needed to ensure their well being and to help provide stability in their lives.
Our mission is to provide timely and professional support services by working with parents, partner agencies, and the community to enhance family self-sufficiency, promote responsible parenting, and ensure that the best interests of the children are met.

  • The Adams County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Section, is proud to announce that effective Wednesday, October 1, 2014, all filing and docketing related to child support and spousal support cases will take place in the Domestic Relations Office located at 123 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania 17325. This move is in support of the Court’s vision and mission to continue to evaluate existing practices to best provide efficient and effective service to the community, and has been accomplished through the careful planning and coordination of both County and Court departments. The move aligns the Adams County Domestic Relations Section with the majority of counties in Pennsylvania that provide filing and docketing services within their Domestic Relations departments. Filing and docketing for alimony pendente lite cases will continue to be performed in the Adams County Prothonotary’s Office. The Administrative Order No. 45 of 2014 is located on the website under Court of Common Pleas that provides detailed information regarding the changes involved with the transfer of filing and docketing. Any questions regarding the impact of these changes may be directed to the Adams County Domestic Relations Section or the Adams County Court Administrator.
  • Effective October 1, 2014 our office will no longer accept personal checks as a payment method for Petitions for Modification or other court costs. They may be paid with cash, money order, or certified checks. The petition fee of $27.50 remains the same.
  • In order to continue to meet the ever changing laws, regulations and requirements in the world of child support, the Adams County Domestic Relations Section has developed a plan to restructure our office. To implement these changes and learn the newly assigned job responsibilities, the entire DRS team will be undergoing intensive training over the next several months.

To allow time for this training it is necessary that we curtail the hours in which we will be able to accept phone calls. Effective July 29, 2014 the office will only accept phone calls on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 PM- 4:30 PM. The office will remain open Monday- Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM and we will do our best to see any clients that appear in the office. You may contact your DR worker through the US mail or via email (a list of e-mail addresses is available on this website under Staff Listing).

The PA child support website ( is a valuable tool to check regarding payment and scheduling information on your case. It also provides general information regarding the child support program.
Be advised that during this period of transition we will continue to process payments, take enforcement action, and enter new and modified orders as necessary. We appreciate your understanding while we take this step to better serve your child support needs in the future.
  • Effective immediately per Federal regulations the Domestic Relations Section is no longer permitted to divulge the source of any payment applied to your support account. Per Federal and State requirements some payments credited to the account may not be disbursed or released for up to 6 months.
  • Effective January 1, 2013, all of the Petition Fees have increased to $27.50.
