Marty Karsteter Qually began his first term as County Commissioner in 2012. Prior to serving as a County Commissioner, Mr. Qually served as an appointed County Auditor and as an elected Gettysburg Borough Council member. Commissioner Qually’s current goals They are: (1) working with community partners to expand affordable broadband access, (2) supporting the @Home in Adams initiative to improve public transportation, affordable housing, and workforce development, (3) planning and obtaining funds to build a substance abuse recovery house for women, (4) providing election education for the public focusing on processes used locally and statewide to keep our elections safe and secure, and (5) creating a horticultural based vocational rehabilitation program at the county jail.
Throughout his tenure Commissioner Qually has remained dedicated to the important principle of open government. While priorities may change from year to year, elected officials must maintain an open dialog with residents and area business owners. Commissioner Qually received all of his education in this area attending Saint Francis Xavier School, Delone Catholic High School and Mount Saint Mary’s University. Marty Qually is a long-time resident of Adams County and resides in Gettysburg with his wife Elizabeth Meighan.
